It's on! The Down South MTB festival celebrates mountain biking in the South West offering two 2 days of competitive and recreational mountain bike fun. Promoting the mountain biking facilities in Dunsborough and Margaret River across 2 days, events include the XCO WAMBA 2019 State Series Rounds 5 and 6. We'll also have a variety of fun and free events - 16 inch wheeled bike races, wheelie competitions, balancing challenges, dual slalom races, bunny hops, jump displays and this year for the first time the Down South MTB festival will be hosting a fun Gravity Enduro in the Dunsborough Meelup Mountain Bike Park.
There will also be some of the South West’s best mountain bike coaches on site offering some great kids and adult MTB skills coaching clinics. Find out more here and register and purchase coaching clinic tickets here.

Exciting news! With our friends at Humble Bike Co and Shimano, we're holding a fundraising viewing of the movie 'The Moment' by Darcy Turenne, with all proceeds going to the club - and our trails! Woohoo!
It's on again! The Cape Mountain Bikers with agreement from the Secret Whicher Cult would like to invite the wider mountain biking community to join them on another Chase the Thylacine ride. This is a no cost event - there is no entry fee and we are not raising money for any cause. We are however promoting mental health week with a focus on where we live, learn, work and play.
This classic spring event, which began in 2010, originally took riders from the Secret Whicher Trails near Busselton to Nannup and back again. The 2018 ride will begin at the iconic Busselton Jetty and takes riders on a 100-mile epic to Nannup for an overnight stop before returning the following day. All riders will be required to ride with a partner or as part of a group. For those individuals not wishing to ride the entire course, the ride can be done in relay style, with designated change over points along the course. Read more below, or visit the Facebook Event page for more information. Round 5 is done and dusted. Congratulations to all who participated, and a big thanks to all the WAGE crew, the volunteers, and the DDCC for an awesome day. Results are available here - our trails saw a massive turn-out of riders and good conditions on race day; we were especially lucky in that regard, given all the recent storms :)
The CMB fundraising gourmet sausage sizzle, kindly organised by Regina and Roman from Ride Local, was kept super busy - thanks to all who helped out (especially Regina, Michelle, Donna, Katherine, Pascal, Thorben and Luca) and thanks to everyone who dropped by for a (gourmet!) feed! It's on this weekend! Round 5 of the WA Gravity Enduro series will take place this Sunday July 29. The trails are prepped and course maps are available - head on over to the WAGE event page to get detailed maps and last-minute info. With 5 race stages spread across both Meelup and DDCC trails, and the race village based at the Country Club, it should be a great day for both riders and spectators. Wishing everyone an awesome day - stay safe and enjoy it!
ANNOUNCING A SPECIAL EVENT FOR OUR GRASSROOTS MEMBERS: Two private shuttling days at Mt. Gunjin in Kalamunda on July 7 and 8 with Frank Marzoli of the KMBC. With 4 hours shuttle access per session, the groms are sure to wear themselves out and have a blast doing it. Snacks and drinks will provided on the days to keep your energy levels up - you'll need it! Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch are also included in the price, and will be provided by Ride Local using Kalamunda local produce. BELATED UPDATE/WRAPUP: Thanks to everyone involved! Good times had by all. Saturday 2nd June and Sunday 3rd June saw the Down South MTB Festival return to Dunsborough and Margaret River.
