What to bring

Your child should have a suitable bike with functioning brakes (not back-pedal!), handlebar grips that cover the exposed bar-ends, dirt-specific tyres with a decent amount of tread and a seat height that allows the child to touch the ground with both feet.

Safety equipment is critical - please ensure your child has a well-fitted helmet that meets Australian standard (currently AS/NZS 2063). We recommend safety glasses or sunglasses, and please bring a water bottle. Additional protective gear such as gloves, knee pads etc is not necessary but HIGHLY recommended. Remember warm clothing for the winter terms!
See the Parent Information below for full details.

How to enrol

For trail access, insurance and public liability reasons each rider must have a current AusCycling membership and a Cape Mountain Bikers membership. You can sign your child up for AusCycling and CMB memberships simultaneously for a minimum total cost of $81/yr or $9/month (Lifestyle membership). Just go to AusCycling.org.au/membership and nominate Cape Mountain Bikers as your club during the application process. AusCycling also offers 4 week free trial memberships - check their site for details. See Parent Information below for more details.

Once you have your child's AusCycling membership number, please complete the online Grassroots Registration Form. Cost is $65 per child per term(fortnightly) or $130 (weekly) - payment can be made as per the payment methods specified on the enrolment form. Parents and volunteers are welcome to come along for free - all we ask is that you have a valid AusCycling including CMB membership.
